Proof (formerly Notarize) is a secure, state-approved online platform that enables remote online notarization (RON). It provides identity verification, secure audio-video recording, document encryption, and long-term record retention required for remote notarizations.
I am credentialed to perform remote notarizations through Proof in compliance with Michigan law.

No. You may complete a remote notarization through Proof without creating an account.
However, creating a Proof account allows you to:
Access and manage your notarized documents
Improve document security
Reuse your identity verification for future notarizations
Both options are available, and the choice is yours.
-
Yes. Proof offers a mobile app—Notarize—available for both iOS and Android devices.
The app allows clients to:
Join a remote notarization session
Upload and access documents
Complete identity verification securely
Using the app is optional. Remote notarization can also be completed through a web browser on a computer or tablet.
For app-specific features, troubleshooting, or updates, clients may refer directly to Proof’s official support resources.

In most cases, yes. Remote notarization allows you to complete your notarization from home, work, or another convenient location, provided you have internet access and a compatible device.
Certain documents or jurisdictions may have additional requirements, which will be reviewed prior to your session.
-
Yes. Witnesses and additional signers may participate in a remote notarization session, either remotely or from the same physical location, depending on the document requirements.
All participants must meet applicable legal and platform requirements, including identity verification and access to a compatible device with a camera, microphone, and internet connection.
Some documents require witnesses, while others do not. If witnesses are needed, please let us know in advance so we can confirm the appropriate setup. In certain cases, credentialed remote witnesses may be available through Proof, depending on document type and availability.
If you are unsure whether your document requires witnesses or multiple participants, we recommend confirming requirements before scheduling your session.
-
Proof’s platform fees are governed by Proof’s own terms and policies.
Notary fees and service fees charged by me are generally non-refundable once the notarization or service has been completed, except as required by law or in the event a service could not be performed.
If a notarization cannot proceed due to technical issues or eligibility requirements, we will guide you on next steps.
